I've been a photographer ever since I was a kid, when I nicked my Dad's old manual film SLR and took pictures at parties and holidays. I loved being in control of the picture, and people paying attention to get their photograph taken!

Dad gave great career advice. He said there are jobs out there you don't even know exist yet. I had no idea people got paid to photograph weddings, or that it could be so much fun! I started in 2003, and since then business has been incredible. I can't believe how quickly my business catches up with my ambitions and I keep having to invent new ones! I've got to partly put this down to brides and grooms wanting to choose someone they can connect with on a personal level and genuinely enjoy having their photos taken.

My goal at a wedding is not just to take great pictures, but for the bride to actually feel beautiful as we shoot. And then afterwards to connect those emotions with the images. These are more than 'just photographs'. I get the biggest kick out of taking a man or woman who believes themselves not to be photogenic and proving without a shadow of a doubt otherwise! And I believe in marriage, so I want these photographs to help a couple look back on a living memory and strengthen the bond between them.

I'm not a make-up artist, Rigby and Peller fitter or even a world class retoucher (though I pull some pretty sneaky evil moves in photoshop on a regular basis!) My job is not to conjure up, but to reveal the beauty that's already there. I want you to have fun, relax and get all the hang-ups right out of the way, leaving only you and your affection for each other plain to see in the photograph. My advice is, wear your heart on your sleeve. If you let your emotions show, I won't miss it.

Ten things to know about me: My right index finger is insured for £4m. (Joking. OK serious now!) I listen. I want quality AND quantity, especially of time spent with friends. I love skiing and running. I'll give you a run for your money in any friends trivia quiz. I hate paying for adverts and do very little, thanks to my amazing customers who spread the word. I'm left-handed. I'm a 'new kind of Christian'. Beauty is more obvious than truth. I look for it in everyone I meet. I'm very patient. I LOVE wedding cake!
