Engagement Portraits

Meeting up for some practice shots before the wedding is a great way for us to get to know each other better. You'll see what it's like having your pictures taken by me, and I can see how the two of you interact, and how to help you feel relaxed enough to be the same way in front of the camera.

"Definitely have a friend photograph your wedding - just make sure it's Richard!"

The main objective as we shoot is just one thing: to have fun. We'll walk about, have a coffee, and talk about your wedding. I'd love to hear about how you met and fell in love. By the time the wedding comes, I'd rather you felt that we were more like friends than anything else.

email from a customerLots of people feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, and may have never even deliberately had a photo taken when they weren't looking at the camera and smiling (or trying to). Those shots are all very well, but the ones I like the best are the genuine moments of affection: whispering in (or biting) an ear, tickling and laughing out loud. Have a think beforehand: what do you do when you want your fiance to smile, laugh, kiss you, or carry you across the room? We can go to a favourite park or place of yours - maybe even the place you got engaged!

What should we bring?

Basically, wear something that you know you look good, but feel comfortable in. The style is up to you. You might want to be casual, or all dressed up. Feel free to bring a change of outfit if you want to try something different, and any props that help tell your story. If you met online, bring your laptops! If he won you a teddy bear at the fair...you get the idea!
