After 18 years photographing the most glorious weddings for the most beautiful of couples I’m excited to say I’m starting something new. I have loved being a part of so many of life’s magical moments for you and honestly I really could have gone on forever. But we live long lives and have multiple passions. It’s time for me to pursue my next. Believe me, it’s hard work but totally worth it.

I will always be a photographer, whatever I get up to. And I DO like champagne and wedding cake. But for the time being I won’t be taking any more bookings from 2022.

Thank you to all who have made us a small part of your big story. Look me up, keep in touch!

Yours in f2.8, 1/125th and ISO1600... Richard

Kicking the leaves with Andy & Beth at Cliveden House

I noticed something interesting. The couples that choose us for their weddings tend to be a lot like us in some way or another. So instead of focussing our advertising and marketing on looking super-flash, wealthy, or famous we’ve always preferred to just be ourselves. Exactly as you’ll find us when we meet, and on the wedding day itself.

It means we don’t usually get to boast about having our weddings appear in OK magazine, fly to Italy just for an engagement shoot or hire a lambourghini for the photos. (I mean you could always just use your own lambourghini even though it’s last year’s model.) But it does mean we get to make a genuine connection, and lots of great friends that we love to keep in touch with.

Three location skype calls can be tricky, but when I talked to Andrew and Beth last year about their wedding plans we had a great chat, laughed easily and I felt sure we’d be friends. We met up in November to take a look at their awesome wedding venue, kick the fallen leaves and take some engagement photos around Cliveden House. It was fun to learn more about them and find out just how much we had in common as we went for a good long walk. So long in fact, we didn’t realise the place was closing just as we finished.

So here are a few photos from our shoot. I can’t wait for their big day this spring!

A Christmas Wedding at Lemore Manor

How can it be a year ago that we were photographing Cary and Laura’s beautiful Christmas wedding at Lemore Manor in Hereford? Getting the decorations up at home reminded us of their fun and romantic day at such a gorgeous venue. Cary and Laura are truly wonderful people and you could tell from both their kind and welcoming families that they are very loved. After taking photographs of Laura and her bridesmaids throughout the day Kate said she’d never seen a group of ladies take such good care of their bride. #squadgoals I reckon.

Here’s to a very happy Christmas to all of you. I’m in charge of turkey this year at the Shephard house so with me luck. Or wish my family luck.

See you in the new year!

Matt & Laura’s Wedding Video from Moor Hall Hotel

We’re so excited to share Matt and Laura’s wedding video with you. It was a pleasure to shoot exclusively film while our friend Binky Nixon took lovely photos. Their wedding ceremony was at a warm and friendly church in Sutton Coldfield, with the grand reception at the Moor Hall hotel afterwards. Such kind and welcoming families and a sweet couple.

If you’ve already booked your photographer but are looking for a gorgeous wedding film or are thinking of adding a highlights video to your photography package with us, check out some examples here.

Dan & Katy’s handcrafted wedding at the Jinny Ring Centre

I was just thinking back to last Summer, when Dan & Katy celebrated their wedding in a beautiful and personal ceremony at the Jinny Ring centre. When I told Kate and her mum where it was they were pretty excited as it’s a top spot for a bit of craft, shopping, admiring the countryside and enjoying the ducks. It’s a lovely setting for a family wedding and Katy and Dan had clearly made some personal and creative touches to make it their own for the day.

With our beloved Malvern Hills in the background we got some beautiful photos, enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, then raised the barn roof with a hell of a party in the evening. We met so long ago we had to wait ages for the day to finally come but I’m so glad to have been with you guys for your big day!

Trisha & Jennifer’s Wedding at Eastington Park, Gloucestershire

Trisha and Kate have been friends since they worked together years ago, and when she told us that she was planning to marry her lovely Jennifer (who is just wonderful) Kate said “I’m coming to photograph that wedding with you!” We couldn’t wait, and it was quite a long time between making plans and the big day. But it finally came and we had a wonderful time with these two ladies and their sweet families at Eastington Park in Gloucestershire.

This bride and bride are big disney fans and planned a day that was as fun as it was beautiful and full of joy. The weather was gorgeous and the ceremony was held outside in the garden. We just love a wedding of two ladies. Two gorgeous dresses, two proud dads and loads of love and laughter. Here’s our highlights video from the day, followed by a few photos.
