I've noticed a few things: Everyone takes photos. Everyone loves a good photo. Very few people like posing for photos (if you do it's a bonus!) And the photos people like most, the ones they want prints of, put on the wall, facebook, etc. are the fun ones. The smiley shots. You may or may not know the photo is being taken, but if you look happy or content in it, it will be a success. The problem with your average family photo is it takes just a little too long. A real smile lasts about a second, and my job is to capture that, and not the fake one you do afterwards! My approach is to simply have a great time with you and make you laugh, photographing the real smiles and the fun you have. It's not so much like having your picture taken, as just taking a nice walk in the park or hanging out with your family and someone happens to be taking pictures.
