It’s a lot of fun to get away from our local haunts and see a beautiful wedding in a new location. I photographed a wedding at Polhawn Fort near Plymouth a few years ago. And it was amazing. So I was very excited when Andy and Becky told me about their plans for a wedding at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth. It is a truly unique location. But their wedding was also special because of their sweet families and friends. It was an amazing day and a privilege to be a part of it.
Kate was able to be with me for the wedding. After the long drive down from Solihull (man that A30) I got some photos of Becky and her team at the hotel while Kate went on to the castle to get started. I hitched a lift to the castle in time for the ceremony. I’d been down once to visit so I knew the room was dark. Thank god for ISO12,800 is all I can say. But so much charm and character.
After the ceremony and some photos in the castle grounds the guests went on to the reception at Merchants Manor. Meanwhile Kate, the videographer and I joined the couple on Gyllyngvase beach for some fun photos. This lovely couple have a thing for the beach. It’s where we did their engagement photos. I should have known Becky would need to have the shoes off and the sand between her toes straight away. Needless to say, they got cheers and applause from the folks on the beach!
Then it was back to the reception in their lovely rented morgan. They were keeping the car for a while to go touring after the wedding day. WHAT a cool idea.
Such a great day and a wonderful couple. Thank you Andy and Becky for making us a part of it. And thank you for bringing us to Falmouth, which we now officially…love. We’ll see you in the good vibes cafe for breakfast.
